Though her hotsie-totsie vamping may fly over the towheads of the kindergarten set, Mayzie La Bird is portrayed with infectious glee and real vocal power by Billie Wildrick.

...Now that kind of character is quite lacking in the egg’s mother, Mayzie LaBird, a glittery showgirl with a big need to stand in a bright spotlight. Billie Wildrick was terrific in the role, with a major voice and some pretty appealing moves, sympathetic even for her weaknesses.
